In 1985, the central executive committee officials discussed with Chattogram’s local leaders and business owners from the motor parts sector about forming an association, and a detailed meeting was held. Considering the businessmen’s interests, in 1986, the Chattogram branch was established under the leadership of Sheikh Mujib of Chattogram. The founding members of the committee were Mr. Kazi Fakir Mohammad, members Mr. Tofazzal Hossain and Mr. Anwarul Alam, along with Mr. Jamal Ahmed Siddique. In 1987, a full-fledged committee was formed, with Mr. Tofazzal Hossain as President, Mr. Abul Hossain Choudhury as General Secretary, and Mr. Shafiqur Rahman as Treasurer. At that time, the Chattogram branch operated from rented premises. In 2003–2004, the Chattogram branch purchased its own plot and constructed a six-story building. The upper floors are currently being used as rental space for income purposes. At present, the number of members in this branch exceeds 700.
